Friday...and feeling sorry for myself... ; * (

It's Friday--and I should be excited--I was to travel to Winston-Salem today to shop at The Enchanted Cottage and then stay and play with THE Stamp Queen and her "court" tonight and tomorrow...but alas, here I sit, home sneezing and wheezing at my computer. Pass another Kleenex, please...I even had an awesome hostess gift to take her. Oh well. I learned yesterday when I called to tell her I couldn't come (good thing-I feel worse (if that's possible!) today than I did yesterday!) that her BIRTHDAY was March 1st...so I will send this to her as a belated birthday gift instead. Maybe I can stamp a card to go in it inbetween sneezes...until next time---ACHOO--I mean happy stamping and scrapping...Blessings, Sharon

Happy Birthday, Matthew!

So for once I am actually AHEAD instead of behind! Matthew's birthday (my "nephew"), isn't until April 5th, but when I saw this cupcake project...well, I just knew I had to make it for him! What--you thought it was the "real deal"?! HA! Fooled you--and there's yet another surprise---the "whipped cream and cherry" lift off--and out comes a gift card (or, in Matthew's case--cash!) I had a great time making this--and may even offer it as a class. I've another one "baking". Since it's for a girlfriend, I used a white base with swirls and then bright pink ribbon with tiny white polka dots -- it looks like it is covered with sprinkles! And best yet-NO CALORIES! LOL!!!
Matthew's card is stamped with Close to My Heart stamps and I gotta confess--when I stamped the CELEBRATE...part of the "r" and "t" didn't stamp properly. BUT...since they are clear stamps, I was able to reink the stamp, position it perfectly and restamp the image! Saved paper, ink and time! This simply could not have been done with traditional wood-mounted stamps.
My March order will be placed on Thursday, March 26th. I am offering, in honor of St. Patty's day, a 10% dicount...send me a new customer and they receive 10% off their order-and your discount increases to 15%! No balarney! If you've always wanted to try CTMH and haven't--now's the time! Until next time, happy stamping and scrapping!
Blessings, Sharon

GIRLFRIENDS...

gotta stick together! Lol! One of my girlfriend's is having a bad day...so I stamped this card to send her way. The pic's kinda blurry-sorry about that...it says: I'm married and so therefore...I will be needing a much larger glass! And the inside says...hang in there, girlfriend! Hope she gets a chuckle out of it! My "big" project today bombed-think it might have something to do with the headache plaguing me...so making something quick and easy like this was a real pick-me-up for me as well. May try and layout some photos for a two-page photo mosaic spread I will be working on this Wednesday-check out Tami Potter's book titled Designing Photo Moasaics and More at www.tamipotter.com WOW! This will certainly provide a new challenge! Until next time, happy stamping and scrapping.

Time out for TT's Birthday!

Well, I missed her birthday---so I figured I'd better take time out NOW to do a birthday basket for TT. This sweet gal tags along with her mom and I on our marathon shopping sprees and doesn't complain one bit! She is such a sweetie! And a girly-girl for sure! She loves her nail polish-from fingers to toes! So I got a wire-framed clear pink plastic bin and decorated it with scrapbook paper panels (backed with cardstock)--girly-girl and shopping theme-what else?! You can't see all the sparkles and glitter (I HATE working with glitter...it's pretty but oh so messy-Inky had it on his nose this am!..only for TT would I do this again!) I punched holes along each side and set eyelets in them. Then laced them together and tied them with bows! What's inside? Well, the roses are actually soap, there's lip gloss (shaped like ice cream treats and then some with glitter), nail polish (of course!) and nail decals...toe separators, some powder and a light-up tiara (that's the butterfly in the back!) So---she should be all decked out for spring! But shh! Don't tell her-she's not gotten it yet! Better bake her brother Michael (home for spring break) some muffins so he doesn't get too jealous--seems TT gets a lot of the attention around their house! ; ) Back to stamping-what a quick and easy way to decorate a plain basket for EASTER! You can use patterned paper, or stamp your design...what about a wrap around border of Easter Eggs?! Hmmm....maybe I'll go try it...Until next time, happy stamping and scrapping. Blessings, Sharon
ps/ the oki stamp queen had to have a tiara, too--and, um, a matching magic wand-hope it will do that housework for me so I can play in the craft room more..and then there's those extra pounds I've been trying to lose...I'll let you know how/if it (the wand!) works! Lol!

Soggy Sunday...

And so was Saturday! We got up early yesterday and drove to Atlantic Beach/Beaufort to see our son, James, run in his first 10K marathon! It wasn't too cold-but it was wet. He trained long and hard and, despite the rain, did well. We are proud of him for his tenacity and discipline!
Yesterday also marked, for whatever reason, the closing of Scrapbook Nook. Unlike the rain, our scrapbook and stamping supply sources are quickly drying up. I will take this opportunity to remind you that I am a Close to My Heart consultant and Theresa sells for Stampin' Up. Please consider us when searching for those much-needed supplies. While there is a little bit of a wait, (1 wk. +/-), as we will have to order for you, good things are worth waiting for! And we can promise you good customer service! We are also trying to form some other groups for classes, so if you know of people who are interested please let us know!
Until next time, happy stamping and scrapping! Blessings, Sharon
